According to Tuttosport newspaper, Aston Villa are among the clubs scouting Genoa striker Albert Gudmundsson, scorer of seven goals in 16 Serie A games this season.

Sunday’s printed edition of Tuttosport claims Genoa have set their sights on versatile Genoa striker Gudmundsson. Unai Emery’s side have reportedly scouted the Iceland international several times this season alongside Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Gudmundsson, 26, has arguably been Genoa’s best player this season, with seven goals in 16 league games. He has recently signed a contract extension at the Stadio Ferraris until June 2027.

According to Sunday’s printed edition of Tuttosport (page 26), Aston Villa will continue monitoring the striker until the end of the season ahead of a potential summer transfer.

Gudmundsson is not the only Genoa player on Aston Villa’s radars, as the Premier League side have also been monitoring 22-year-old midfielder Morten Frendrup this term.

Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa have showcased some exciting talents so far this season, including Radu Dragusin who is one of Tottenham’s top targets for the 2024 January transfer window.
