Tottenham want to sign Man United star Marcus Rashford at all costs in the summer

Tottenham are looking to revamp the squad for next season as they prepare for life under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites are facing an uphill task of improving on last season, and the club needs to bring in reinforcements in the summer to achieve that. The changes to the squad need to happen quickly though as pre-season is just around the corner.

The North London club is already playing catch-up in the transfer market, thanks to Daniel Levy’s incompetence and lack of planning. Spurs are also facing financial constraints due to the poor Premier League campaign that Ange Postecoglou’s side endured last season. So, Levy must adopt the ‘sell-to-buy’ policy if the club wants to bring in new players.

There is a clear need to revamp the attack as many key players have failed to deliver in the final third of the pitch. Club captain Heung-Min Son is one of the many forwards that failed to step up when it mattered the most for the Lilywhites. Not only him, but January signing Mathys Tel also failed to make an impact in most games. But the Frenchman is still young and has time to rectify the errors in his game at N17.

Tottenham still in the hunt to sign Man United star Marcus Rashford

Tottenham are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer as the club prepares for Heung-Min Son’s exit. The South Korea international’s form has been on a steady decline, and it is believed that the Lilywhites are willing to cash-in on the 32-year-old if a suitable offer comes in.

It was reported earlier that Spurs are interested in signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. The England international has fallen out with Ruben Amorim at M16, and there is no way back for the 27-year-old at Old Trafford. The most likely option is a summer exit and Daniel Levy has seen this as an opportunity to lure the winger to N17 by offering regular game-time and Champions League football.

The aforementioned report also suggests that the Red Devils are ready to pay a portion of Rashford’s wages as they look to secure a deal to sell the forward. Now, Tottenham have received a massive boost in their efforts to sign the 27-year-old. Aston Villa (via X) have confirmed that they are not opting to trigger the £40m buy-option in the United star’s contract following his successful loan spell at Villa Park.

This has increased Tottenham’s chances of signing the England international in the summer. Fans will now hope that Daniel Levy acts quick and signs the prolific attacker in the coming weeks. With Spurs aiming to compete on all four fronts under Thomas Frank next season, it is important for the Lilywhites to have solid depth in all areas of the pitch. Signing Rashford would instantly elevate the quality of the squad for next season.
