Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak offered no excuses after defeat at Valencia.

Atletico were stunned 3-0 at the Mestalla.

Oblak said: "Today has been a problem for everything, in all aspects they have been better. Intensity, attitude, it is always difficult for us after the National Team break, but what happened today cannot happen to us, we have to improve in that because it is not the first time it has happened to us, you can have a bad game in which nothing comes of it, but you can never lack intensity and attitude.

"We were not up to the task, the entire locker room is aware of it. Now it is too late, we should think about it before of the game, but I am sure that the game will be lifted and that this is an important warning for the season.

"I understand people who don't understand us, but it's football. After the break it's always difficult for us, we were unlucky that we couldn't play the game against Sevilla, we were in a good moment, and we hadn't played for three weeks. When we return from the National Teams, with the trips and the games, we are sure to arrive tired, but that can't be an excuse.

"No matter where you play, you must always keep your head on the field and give the most you can. You can play bad or good, but you always have to play with the greatest possible attitude because if not, the other team will beat you. If it is not Valencia it will be another club, only with the right attitude can we be at the top. We have talent but it's not enough to have the talent to play with 50% of the intensity."
