Atletico Madrid appear to have made a striker one of their main priorities this summer, with Memphis Depay on his way out, and uncertainty over the futures of Angel Correa and Alvaro Morata. Three key targets have been put forward.

Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy is a player they have enquired about, but Borussia Dortmund, one of many clubs interested, are leading the race for the Guinean goalscorer. Meanwhile Alexander Sorloth, who has a release clause of €38m, and Artem Dovbyk, whose clause is €40m, are also targets.

Matteo Moretto has revealed to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that Atletico may have a better chance of signing Dovbyk. Villarreal are keen to hang onto Sorloth, and the Norwegian is happy at La Ceramica. While the same goes for Dovbyk, Girona acknowledge that there is a chance he leaves this summer.

Dovbyk has 21 goals this season, and was leading the Pichichi race until the penultimate matchday, when Sorloth usurped him following a four-goal haul against Real Madrid. Dovbyk is also two years younger than Sorloth though, which perhaps sweetens the deal for Los Colchoneros, if they do end up pursuing the Ukrainian.
