AC Milan will face Lecce tomorrow at San Siro and the game could be an audition of sorts for Patrick Dorgu, given the Rossoneri’s interest in signing him in the summer.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), tomorrow’s match between Milan and Lecce could be different for him because the Diavolo have been evaluating him for months as a possible deputy to Theo Hernandez.

It is a role that has remained mostly uncovered this year, given that Pioli – when the Frenchman was missing – moved Alessandro Florenzi to the left which is not his favoured side given he is right-footed.

The other option was to try and sign Juan Miranda on a free transfer. Before closing the deal for Filippo Terracciano, there had been some enquiries with the Andalusian club to understand if, by paying a small fee, it would be possible to bring forward Miranda’s arrival to January.

Nothing was completed due to the requests of the Seville-based club (€4-5m) and now Miranda has gone off the radar, apparently due to the commissions requested which are deemed too high by the Rossoneri management.

Dorgu is among the first on the list for the summer. Lecce already value him highly, as Corvino himself made clear on Wednesday on the sidelines of a meeting at Unisalento with the students of the Sports Law and Management course.

“I certainly can’t say that with Dorgu we will make a loss. The club will make a nice profit because it has an important potential like many other young footballers who are in Lecce,” he said.

The newspaper claims that it is difficult to imagine Lecce accepting a bid of less than €10m for the defender.
