As the summer transfer window approaches, the focus is on what lies ahead for Xavi Simons at Paris Saint-Germain. While FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye, eager for Simons to make a move, PSG are determined to retain him.

Earlier this month, Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport reported that Simons would not return to PSG this summer due to a lack of motivation to continue in the French capital. As a result, top European clubs’ radar signals went up.

Simons has really stood out at RB Leipzig, leaving a strong impression with 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering 15 assists this season for the German club.

Nonetheless, Le Parisien reports that Simons will be returning two the French capital after spending the last two seasons on loan with PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig. Moreover, the Ligue 1 champions have no intention of allowing him to leave.

With PSG beginning a new era this summer, they see Simons as a key part of what they’re building, and there was no way he could depart to join another top European team.
