During an appearance on SiriusXM FC, Luis Garcia explained that Hansi Flick might need to change his system after Barcelona’s loss to PSG in the Champions League, as the Parisians have exploited holes in what they want to do.
“We know that in La Liga, they already managed to understand where is [that] enough with that high line, with that pressure, with the quality and talent that they got up front,” Garcia said. “They can do that. They can get results.
“I think that they’re going to be there just fighting for it once again. But in the Champions, it’s a totally different conversation. And that’s something that Barça now needs to continue figuring out. That high line caused them to get out against Inter Milan last year…
“It doesn’t matter who is playing; that they have that ambition, that mentality of going forward. We saw a very good Paris Saint-Germain, and that mistake, once again, with the line of defense just too high at the wrong moment. It was what happened last year.
“I’m not sure if Hansi Flick it’s going to continue with that mentality. I’m going to keep on doing it because that’s the way we want to play, and that’s the idea we have in our hands. And sometimes we’re going to lose games. And [on Wednesday], it was about that.”
