A few days ago, PSG pulled off a massive performance by winning in Barcelona, largely thanks to an outstanding display from Nuno Mendes, who kept Yamal tightly under control.
However, while the Portuguese international received a yellow card, Luis Enrique decided to bring on Lucas Hernandez, who engaged in a fierce battle with Yamal, as recounted by the 2018 World Cup champion.
“I’m someone who enjoys adversity, big duels, big matches, big challenges. I always try to show up,” Hernandez told Média Carré (h/t Le10Sport).
“Nuno Mendes was having an extraordinary game, but with a yellow card, it was difficult for him. In a one-on-one against Yamal, at any moment, he could get booked. The coach managed it well—he just asked me not to get a yellow in the first few minutes (laughs). It went well.”
