Robert Lewandowski has entered the final year of his contract with Barcelona, and there’s little certainty he’ll stay in Catalunya past the summer, with Milan emerging as a possible landing spot should he decide to try something different next, Calciomercato informs.

The veteran is expected to make the call only later in the campaign. At this stage, there’s a 50 percent chance he’ll leave for free. He hasn’t had a great start due to a lingering physical problem, coming off the bench in four of his first nine appearances and scoring four goals. He just suffered a thigh injury that will sideline him for at least a month.

Lewandowski would have to accept a steep pay cut to join Milan. He’s making €13M currently, nearly double the highest-paid players on the Rossoneri squad. However, he wouldn’t be the first to do so.

The Pole legend has no plan to retire and doesn’t intend to move to Saudi Arabia, even though he’d be covered in gold there, Sport informs (via Tuttomercatoweb). He plots to spend two more campaigns in Europe.

If he departed, Barcelona could be in the mix for Dusan Vlahovic, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta). However, Bayern Munich remain the most active club on the Serb at the moment.

Our Take on Milan and Lewandowski

If Luka Modric, who’s three years older, is doing as well as he is, there’s no reason he wouldn’t have success either, provided he doesn’t become injury-prone. The Rossoneri have tried but haven’t really settled their no.9 position last summer. Santiago Gimenez and Rafael Leao haven’t shown enough to prove they are the long-term solutions.
