FC Barcelona will play Atletico Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. local time in Barcelona, Spain, and 3 p.m. ET in the United States.

Both teams faced each other last Saturday at Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium for La Liga matchday 30. The Blaugranas defeated Los Colchoneros 2-1, extending their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points over second-placed Real Madrid.

The “Culés” were level at 1–1 at halftime, but late in the second half, Robert Lewandowski scored the winner to give Hansi Flick’s side the victory.

Atletico Madrid arrives at this Champions League stage after defeating Tottenham Hotspur in the round of 16 (7-5), while FC Barcelona defeated Newcastle United with a global score of 8-3.

FC Barcelona announced that Ronald Araujo will be available for Wednesday’s encounter, despite turning on the alarms after being subbed last Saturday before the end of the first half. However, Marc Bernal will be out of the game against Atletico Madrid, due to a sprain in the left ankle, caused in Saturday’s game against the Colchoneros.

Additionally, Raphinha, Frenkie de Jong, and Andreas Christensen remain injured and will be out of the squad for this Wednesday.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid will play without Pablo Barrios and Johnny Cardoso, due to muscular injuries.
