Bayer Leverkusen chief Simon Rolfes says they're keen to keep hold of Jonathan Tah.
The Germany international, 28, is inside the final 18 months of his current deal.
Tah has been linked with Newcastle and West Ham this season.
Rolfes told Sky Deutschland: "We are interested. Jonathan also knows that we would like to extend."
Rolfes continued: "At this stage of the season he wants to focus on the games. That applies to us as well. Then we will sit down together and try to find a good solution. I am optimistic about that now."
