Paris Saint-Germain look as if they will look for an exit for Dutch creator Xavi Simons this summer, and Barcelona emerged as one of the first destinations that would welcome him with open arms. Their attempts may be in vain though.

The Blaugrana are keen to move for Simons on loan this summer, and the 21-year-old is keen to head home to his first club.  It is yet to be settled whether he leaves on loan or a permanent deal. According to Sport , RB Leipzig have already put in an offer for Simons, but it was not accepted. Bayern Munich and Arsenal are looking at Simons as a potential permanent transfer though, and both would have the money necessary to extract him from the French capital.

If it comes down to a loan deal, then Simons will prioritise Barcelona, but if it is to be a permanent move, then that would more or less rule the Catalan out of the race. Simons is expected to cost in excess of €60m, and Barcelona’s priorities lie elsewhere in the market currently.
