Before this game, we were celebrating the return of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku to the Chelsea bench.

Finally, it felt like we might be getting a fully fit squad back. But we spoke too soon.

We lost N’Golo Kante to injury before the end of the first half, and now Ben Chilwell has been taken off too, looking in even more pain than the Frenchman.

It was a blow to his right knee, and we can only hope it’s an impact injury and not an ACL or MCL sprain. Until we hear more from Thomas Tuchel, our hearts will be in our mouths.

The only comfort we can take is that he wasn’t on a stretcher – but he looked like maybe he should have been, to be honest.

This should be a brilliant night for the Blues as they batter Juventus, but instead we’re left wondering about this weekend’s game.
