Ben Jacobs drops transfer update on Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi – we have our doubts

Ben Jacobs has swooped in this afternoon with a nice big update on a number of Chelsea transfers.

The big man writes about Renato Veiga and some potential interest from Saudi Arabia, which you can see here, but also has word of a number of other players the Blues have for sale.

Chelsea still convinced they can sell 3 spare parts

Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi and Ben Chilwell have all effectively been up for sale for a year at this point, with no takers. All 3 went on loan at different times last season, after Chelsea tried and failed to secure them permanent transfers away in the summer.

According to Jacobs’ latest update, all 3 are “expected to be sold.” But there’s no real information about who wants them or how much they’re willing to pay. It’s been the line we’ve heard all along, that Chelsea are confident about a sale, but no more substance than that is coming to the surface.

The club want to sell them rather than loan them, and wants it to appear that there’s a lot of interest, but until we hear something more solid, we have our doubts.

Still no significant offers despite Chelsea’s confidence

While we all know Ben Jacobs is well connected at Chelsea and gets lots of great inside information, the problem is that he is getting the information with a very positive spin on it.

He’s been told from within the club that these players have lots of interest – but that’s exactly what the club want everyone to think.

In reality, has there been any really concrete rumours about serious interest or bids on any of the 3? Certainly not in the last few weeks.

There’s plenty of time to go, and we’re sure something will bubble up before the window closes a month from now. But it’s starting to get a little concerning.
