Benjamin Sesko arrived at Old Trafford last summer, replacing Rasmus Hojlund as the club’s main striker, in a move which is looking like it paid off.
The Slovenia international arrived from RB Leipzig for £73.7 million while Hojlund left to Napoli on loan.
Since his arrival, Sesko has scored ten goals and grabbed a single assist in 28 games.
Now, it’s his recent performances that have managed to get him a new nickname at the club.
For some time now, thanks to the impressive height he gets when jumping, the 1.95m tall striker has been affectionately called “Air Sesko”.
However, it’s his ability to score in four games out of seven off the bench which has also seen him dubbed a “super-sub”.
Throughout February, Sesko came on as a substitute scoring the winners against Fulham and Everton, also securing a draw against West Ham United.
Now though, The Daily Mail has reported that Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic dislikes the nickname, standing up for his client, explaining: “If you ask me about this name, I don’t like it. I like ‘super striker’ much more.”
He continued: “I think Benjamin is a super striker.
“‘He has started 13 games this year, coming off the bench in 13 games. He scored half of his goals when he started the game and half when he came off the bench.
“We can see that he is a complete striker and Benjamin is someone who deserves the name ‘super striker’.”
Considering Benjamin Sesko is only 22 years old and it’s his debut Premier League season, the striker shows real promise for what he can do for United long-term.
Unfortunately however, he has had to withdraw from international duty, seeing him remain at Carrington for the international break.
