In positive news for Stefano Pioli and Milan, Ismael Bennacer has returned to training with the rest of the Rossoneri first team and could be called up to face Frosinone in Serie A this weekend.

Bennacer returned from the Africa Cup of Nations last week following Algeria’s elimination at the group stages, however, the 26-year-old came back to Milanello with a new muscular injury.

Bennacer underwent medical tests at Milan’s training ground last week and was subsequently ruled out of the 2-2 draw with Bologna on Saturday evening.

Fortunately for Bennacer, his injury was not considered to be too serious and is now due to return to Serie A action in the coming days.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Bennacer trained in full with the first team at Milanello on Thursday. He had been working individually in the earlier parts of the week.

Milan’s next match will involve a trip to the Stadio Benito Stirpe to face Frosinone at 17.00 GMT on Saturday evening.
