Monday’s reports claim that Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas are in contact with Milan and have held initial discussions about a potential deal for right-back Emerson Royal.
According to reports from the likes of Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have had initial contact with Milan to talks about the former Tottenham defender.
There have been no formal negotiations as things stand, although the Rossoneri have reportedly been asked to provide background information.
It is understood that Besiktas will be looking at a potential loan with either an option or obligation to buy set for a later date.
Emerson has spent the last season in San Siro, having joined in a deal worth €15m plus add-ons from Tottenham during the last summer transfer window.
Despite being a regular starter in the first half of the season, the Brazilian suffered a calf injury in late January, which ultimately kept him out for the rest of the season. The Rossoneri had also decided to pounce on a deal for Kyle Walker from Manchester City around the same time, which would have limited his first-team opportunities regardless.
