Tottenham have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo

Tottenham Hotspur have welcomed Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel on permanent deals to kickstart their summer business, and are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Japanese defender Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale.

Spurs’ qualification to the Champions League, via Europa League success, have given them a chance to attract quality players. Daniel Levy has appointed Thomas Frank as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement in the dugout, but if he is not backed sufficiently in this transfer window and beyond, the Dane will struggle to do his job and change the club’s fortunes in the Premier League.

The North Londoners have been linked with various attacking talents such as Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo and more, with Thomas Frank keen on signing Premier League proven commodities to boost the club’s position in the table. As per the reputable journalist David Ornstein, the Hotspur Way chiefs have also made enquiry for the 25-year-old over a possible move to N17.

Antoine Semenyo enjoyed a fruitful campaign at the Vitality Stadium, notching 17 goal contributions in just 37 league games to continue his upward trajectory. He was one of the Cherries’ crucial players, forming a lethal attacking quartet with Evanilson, Dango Ouattara and Justin Kluivert.

At 25 and now a rising star in the Premier League, Semenyo fits the bill perfectly at Tottenham. With Richarlison potentially heading for the exit doors, the Ghanaian international could be viewed as a fine potential replacement. However, Spurs have suffered a blow in their pursuit of the Bournemouth attacker.

As per Sky Sports Premier League on X, Semenyo has signed a new five-year contract with Bournemouth, extending his stay with the club until the summer of 2030.

The Cherries always had no intentions to let go Semenyo in the same transfer window where they have already lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez to Liverpool, while PSG remain keen on signing Illia Zabarnyi . Andoni Iraola views the 25-year-old as a crucial part of his plans at the Vitality Stadium, and the South Coast club have done well to fend off any potential suitors by agreeing a brand-new contract with him.

Fans will now hope that Levy shifts his focus on other alternatives as he looks to add a winger to the squad. As the window progresses, Tottenham’s options are continuing to dwindle with bitter rivals Arsenal entering the race for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze of late.
