Manchester United are continuing their pursuit of top talent from arround the world with a firm eye on South America over the last year.
Within the last 18 months, The Red Devils signed Diego Leon from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno, and Cristiano Orozco from Colombian side Fortaleza, due to arrive at Old Trafford in the summer.
Now, however, their attention has turned to Argentina and Boca Juniors.
Argentinian outlet El Intransigente has reported that the Red Devils are looking at 18-year-old Tomas Aranda as a potential midfield reinforcement.
However, the club are also understood to be up against Cheslea in hoping to sign the talented teenager.
That said, neither club have an easy fight as the Argentinian side look to keep him themselves.
Club president Juan Román Riquelme is determined to ward off suitors from their academy graduate who has recently used club injuries to assert himself in the senior squad.
Since the start of March 2026, Tomas Aranda has been a key part of the Boca’s side who are yet to be defeated since he becoame a regular starter.
On the 22nd March 2026 he grabbed his first goal for the senior team, opening the scoring in their 2-0 win at home over Instituto ACC.
With his contract in place until 2029, Boca Juniors are under no pressure to sell him, so the Argentinian side hold all the power in contract negotiations.
However, United could have an ace up their sleeve however, with former Red Devils Edison Cavani and Ander Herrera in the squad alongside Aranda.
For now however, Boca will no doubt be trying to keep the focus on the league as they sit in third place on 20 points, only two off league leaders Velez Sarsfield.
