Bologna defender Juan Miranda, a former Real Betis star, travelled to the Stadion Wrocław in Wroclaw, Poland, to support his ex-club in the Conference League Final against Chelsea: ‘It’s a fantastic chance.’
Miranda joined Bologna on a free transfer last summer, but still maintains a solid bond with his former club, Real Betis.
Today, he travelled to Poland to watch his former teammates in the Conference League Final against Chelsea at the Stadion Wrocław in Wrocław.
“It’s the team of my life. I’ve always been a supporter of Real Betis, and watching this game will be amazing,” Miranda told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s an appointment with history for Betis. The first European Final, so it’s a fantastic chance for the fans and the city.
“It’s hard because Chelsea are a top side, with great players. It will be a tough Final. This Final is so important for the city and the fans. First European Final. The entire city is here with the squad, let’s see and enjoy this match.”
Miranda spoke to the Italian broadcasters after Vincenzo Italiano met with Bologna directors, deciding to to extend his contract to 2027.
“It’s great because he’s a coach who helps the team so much, and I’m really thrilled for him,” Miranda said.
“It’s been a fantastic season. We won the Cup [Coppa Italia]. The night in Rome was fantastic, similar to Real Betis in 2022 [when they won the Copa Del Rey]. Hopefully, we can do more next season.”
If Real Betis beat Chelsea tonight, they could meet Miranda’s Bologna in the 2025-26 Europa League.
“Let’s see if there’s a Real Betis vs. Bologna or Bologna vs. Betis match. Obviously, Bologna will have to win.”
Miranda made 38 appearances across all competitions with Bologna this season, including five in the Champions League.
The 25-year-old didn’t score any goals with the Rossoblu, but provided six assists.
