Inter Milan veteran Marko Arnautovic is back to training with his teammates as the group prepares for Monday’s encounter against Udinese.

The 34-year-old picked up a muscle injury in his hamstring during the 1-0 win over his former club Bologna on March 9th.

Therefore, the striker skipped the second leg against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16. He was also absent from the last two Serie A fixtures against Napoli and Empoli.

But according to Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews, Arnautovic returned to group training today.

This is a significant boost for Simone Inzaghi who should be able to call up the Austrian for the trip to Friuli.

The Nerazzurri will take on the Zebrette on Monday night at the Blue Energy Stadium in Udine. They will be looking to earn another three points that put them even closer to mathematically sealing the Scudetto title.

For his part, Arnautovic will be hoping to make his return to action and offer his contribution to the cause.

The former West Ham star has thus far produced four goals and three assists in 29 appearances this season.

The striker rejoined Inter in the summer. He made his return to Appiano Gentile 13 years removed from his original stint at the club.

On another note, Stefan de Vrij’s comeback remains less certain than Arnautovic’s. The Dutchman should make his return to group training between Friday and Saturday.

Inzaghi will then evaluate the defender’s condition before deciding whether to bring him on the trip to Udine or leave him at home.

Finally, Juan Cuadrado still requires a few more weeks on the sidelines despite clinically recovering.

The Colombian is still working on regaining his best condition after undergoing surgery in December.
