Real Madrid does not have the future of some of its most coveted stars completely settled, and a Brazilian international has come out to confirm his plans amid the transfer rumors.
Endrick decided to temporarily leave Los Blancos to head to Ligue 1's Lyon to get more playing time, as he was not being considered by Xabi Alonso.
Endrick, 19, signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 from Palmeiras, for around $55 million. Since then, when he plays, he shows flashes of good football, but that was the problem. He hardly played.
After being loaned and officially presented by France's Lyon, the Brazilian assured that he will not leave Real Madrid permanently, and that this step in his career is only a "pause."
Endrick: "Leaving the biggest club in the world, where everyone dreams of playing, would be difficult for anyone, but I’m NOT leaving. It’s just a pause. " pic.twitter.com/1cDgEeWUO7

Endrick's goal is clear. He wants to succeed at the club of his dreams.
In less than a week, Lyon and Endrick have two cup matches, one being the Coupe de France Round of 64 against Lille on Sunday, Jan. 11, and eleven days later, they will visit Young Boys on Thursday, Jan. 22, for the UEFA Europa League.
On Sunday, Jan. 18, they host Brest for a new Ligue 1 matchday, while on Thursday, Jan. 22, the UEFA Europa League action returns with the visit of Young Boys.
The last two matches of the month for Lyon are against Metz (Ligue 1) on the 25th and against PAOK (Europa League) on the 29th.
