Brendan Rodgers has sent a ‘make some noise for the Bhoys’ message to the Celtic support ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen at Hampden Park…

The Celtic manager takes his side to the national stadium looking for a victory that will complete a third domestic treble for himself and a ninth for the club – both new records.

And in order to get the team over the line the Irishman wants the support to maximise the noise inside Hampden. Brendan shouldn’t lose any sleep worrying about that aspect of the Scottish Cup Final!

In an exclusive interview on Celtic TV that dropped earlier today the Celtic gaffer was asked what message he’d like to send to the Celtic supporters lucky enough to be heading to Hampden on Saturday for the 3pm kick-off. And Brendan was in no doubt that the support has a huge part to play at the final if Celtic are to triumph, just as we all want.

“I just want to say that we really need the supporters for this game,” the Celtic manager said.

“Aberdeen will come, I remember them in the semi-final last year, when they really pushed their team. I remember them in the semi-final of the League Cup as well.

“So we’ll try to be at our best and hopefully the supporters can be at their best as well because when they do that, they give us an unbelievable push. We think we can get through this together. It can end for us what will be a really, really fantastic season.

“So, be as loud as you can, and hopefully, we can make you as proud as we can.”

Brendan also gave a squad update with only Jota and Reo Hatate missing out as we already know. If it wasn’t for injuries both would have been strong contenders to start, certainly Reo would have played.

“Everyone else is fit,” Brendan said. “With not long to go now for preparation, hopefully it can stay that way. It has been a really, really good season for us in terms of the availability of players.

“The guys have done great in terms of the coaching team, in terms of the sessions. The players themselves have looked after themselves so well.

“Our medical and sports science team have prepped the players off the pitch really well. So, that has allowed us to not have so many muscular injuries. It’s been purely based around some knocks and fractures and whatever else. But in the main, everyone is fit and strong and ready.”
