Brentford boss Thomas Frank insists defeat at Wolves could've gone either way.

Goals from Diego Costa and Hwang Hee-Chan consigned the Bees to a third-straight defeat at Molineux on Saturday.

"It was a very even game that we could have got something out of but didn't," Frank said. "There was a lot of effort from the players; a lot of willpower.

"I think this performance was at least as good, maybe a tiny bit better, than West Ham away and Southampton away, where we managed to get three points in both.

"First half, in many ways, we were good and probably had the biggest chance of the game to Josh Dasilva. It was a ricocheted situation that didn't drop to us; their two goals came from ricocheted balls.

"That tells you a little bit about this game - it's marginal, when it tips one side to another. Today, unfortunately, it tipped to Wolves' side.

"Until the 2-0 goal, it was very even. After that, it was still even, but we were running after them, we couldn't get the pressure right, and we couldn't keep the ball for long enough spells, unfortunately."
