English Premier League club Brentford have entered the race to sign Celtic target Cathal O’Sullivan…

According to the Irish Independent, the London club is keen to secure the winger’s signature, with Celtic also reportedly showing interest.

The 18-year-old currently plays for Cork City and has contributed four assists over 18 matches in the Irish Premier Division during the 2025 season.

Reports earlier in the window suggested O’Sullivan was destined for Crystal Palace, but The Irish Independent now indicates there is a ‘strong possibility’ the teenager will remain with Cork City until the Irish season concludes, coinciding with the expiration of his contract.

Consequently, O’Sullivan might face Celtic next Tuesday when Brendan Rodgers’ side visits Cork for their second pre-season match.

Celtic begin their new campaign tonight with an encounter against Scottish Championship side Queens Park at the City Stadium. Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of pre-season kicking off, Rodgers said: “When you’re a big club, they’re never friendlies.”

“But certainly they give us a great time to prepare when we have some of these really good games.”

“But then you add into that the qualification for Champions League, then of course that means that you’re trying to get to the end point that little bit quicker because it’s something that’s very, very important to us. So, yeah, we take that last qualification leg when it comes, and hopefully we’ll be in a really good place by that time.”

Meanwhile, Como have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Nicolas Kuhn from Celtic for £16.4 million.

Despite a dip in his performance levels during the second half of last season, the winger has attracted significant attention throughout this summer.

Now, ambitious Serie A club Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas, seems poised to complete the signing, with Fabrizio Romano confirming a €19m [£16.4m] agreement with Kuhn preparing to travel to Italy for his medical.
