An undefeated Brentford side hosts Liverpool today as the Bees look to continue their impressive form this season.
Keith Andrews’ side are currently fourth in the Premier League table after two wins and four draws. Three points against Tottenham and Chelsea means Brentford enter today’s massive fixture with confidence against a Liverpool side currently ranked ninth.
Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool side suffered a discouraging 3-0 loss against Manchester City in their last league fixture but bounced back immediately in the Champions League with a dominant 6-3 win against Austrian side LASK. Summer signing Bradley Barcola proved that he was worth every dime the club paid PSG with a hat-trick that also silenced critics over his expensive transfer.
Keith Andrews’ biggest concern today is the unavailability of defenders Nathan Collins and Jannik Schuster. Top scorer Kevin Schade and Mikkel Damsgaard are also highly unlikely to start due to injuries.
For Liverpool, Ryan Gravenberch will be unavailable as he serves a suspension following the red card against Manchester City. Iraola is also without his main strikers as Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo continue to be monitored while Hugo Ekitike remains sidelined.
Brentford expected lineup:
Kelleher; Kayode, Ajer, Van den Berg, Diouf; Yarmoliuk, Janelt; Anthony, Lewis-Potter, Ouattara; Thiago.
Liverpool expected lineup:
Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Nyoni, Mac Allister; Muñoz, Wirtz, Barcola; Koumas.
In the United States, viewers can watch today’s Premier League match live on Peacock Premium or on television via NBC Sports Network.
Digital streaming is also available through live TV platforms like Fubo, YouTube TV, or Hulu + Live TV. The match kicks off at 10:00 AM EDT / 7:00 AM PT.
For UK fans, the match will not be broadcast live on television or streaming platforms due to the traditional Saturday 3:00 PM blackout rule. Live audio commentary will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live or the official Liverpool FC Match Centre.
Liverpool face a tough schedule as today’s matchup comes less than 72 hours after their win against LASK.
Next week, the Reds face Villarreal in the Champions League and Iraola will need to carefully manage the minutes considering the current injury crisis.
“We need everyone, we will need everyone in one moment or the other,” Iraola said before the Brentford tie.
On a positive note, Iraola has been provided a boost as Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo could return after being unavailable due to injuries suffered during the international break.
