Carlos Baleba has been one of the names linked with Manchester United for a prolonged period.
Baleba, who plays for Brighton and Hove Albion currently, has formed a key part of the Albion spine so far during his almost three-year spell at the club so far.
As well as this, in his spell at the club, the 22-year-old has made 96 appearances and has scored four times in this period.
Furthermore, he has also recorded two assists in his time at Brighton so far.
He has also taken ten shots so far this season, whilst also winning 60.9% of his aerial duels and completing 85.5% of his passes successfully.
Meanwhile, with this in mind, Manchester United have recently been reported to have made a renewed enquiry for the midfielder.
However, with Brighton wanting to keep the midfielder, it is unlikely that United will sign the Cameroon international in this transfer window with a move in the summer arguably more likely.
Now, a new update has emerged on the links between Manchester United and Carlos Baleba with Brighton vice-chairman Paul Barber commenting on the prospect of a move to Old Trafford.
Speaking to TalkSport, Barber stated: “(We’ve had) no call from anyone connected to Manchester United.
“We have no plans or desire to sell Carlos in this window, or in any future window but we know he’s a talented player and he’s got a lot of options ahead of him in the future.”
With this update received, it is clear that Brighton want to keep Baleba and are not insistent on selling the midfielder, if the club does not have to.
Meanwhile, now, fans could look towards Old Trafford to see if any move is made prior to the end of the January transfer window.
