Let’s start with one we haven’t yet touched on — Brøndby winger Clement Bischoff.

The 19-year-old Dane is reportedly emerging as a target for Celtic, although Sunderland are also said to be interested. It’s worth noting that Brighton had a £7.2m deal fall through for him back in February, and now it’s believed he could be available for around £6.3m. It’s interesting the Brighton deal was all but done and dusted but the player backed out because he didn’t like the pathway to first team minutes the south coast club offered him. Cut of jib liked!

The source? This particular rumour seems to have originated in mainstream terms on Teamtalk, so — as is often the case with that site — it’s probably best consumed with the usual hefty pinch of salt. While some mainstream outlets have picked up on the story, it’s not thought that Celtic have gone much beyond initial scouting at this stage.

That’s not to say there’s no interest — just that it doesn’t appear to be an active pursuit right now.

And that’s a bit of a shame, because Bischoff ticks plenty of boxes. He’s a natural left winger — a position where we definitely need to strengthen — and he’s versatile, good with both feet, and has even filled in at left-back on occasion. Offensively minded, within budget, and attracting outside interest — on paper, he looks like a player worth considering seriously. But as things stand, this seems more like a rumour doing the rounds on WhatsApp and fan message boards than anything concrete from the club. It would be nice to see that one develop though.
