Bruno Fernandes has named the only Manchester United player who could keep up with him over a standout statistic from the 2024-25 Premier League season.
The 31-year-old Portugal midfielder was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise difficult campaign for Erik ten Hag’s side.
Across all competitions, Fernandes played 57 matches, scoring 19 goals and providing as many assists. His form once again highlighted his value to the squad.

His performances didn’t go unnoticed, either. Fernandes picked up his fourth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, drawing level with David de Gea for most wins by a United player.
Even though it was a disappointing league finish for United—ending up in 15th place—Fernandes still managed to make an impact throughout the season.
Bruno Fernandes was shown his rating on the upcoming EA Sports FC 26, along with the updated scores for several key attributes compared to the previous release.
When talking about his shooting, Fernandes spoke about how much effort he puts into developing that skill during training sessions.
He also mentioned new signing Matheus Cunha, noting how the former Wolves forward matched him for goals scored from outside the box last season.
“It’s about what you do in training,” Fernandes said. “Obviously, it’s something I train a lot from different positions in training; I know I’m capable of it. It’s a big part of my game.”
“Equally, [with] Matheus, we were the two players with more goals outside the box last season also, so it’s something that’s very important for me as a midfielder because most of the time the chance I get for a shot is from outside of the box and everything.
“So, you need to train different positions because then also you get to the box and you need to get into position to score goals.”
Matheus Cunha had a strong season for Wolves in 2024-25, scoring 17 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions before making the move to Manchester United.
When Fernandes saw his 83 shooting rating on EA Sports FC 26 – two points lower than it was in EA Sports FC 25 – he couldn’t help but laugh.
“83,” he reacted, before adding: “As the player with the most goals outside of the box, I think it should be a little bit higher, but it is what it is. “I can’t make the rules. It’s still a good shot for the game.”
So far this season, Fernandes has played in all four of Manchester United’s matches and has already found the net once.
