Both teams won their last match of 2025 over the previous weekend, but both teams are on different sides of the Serie A table.

Cagliari is 14th in the Serie A with 18 points and has a record of four wins, six draws, and seven losses. In their previous match, Cagliari defeated Torino 2-1 away from home.

After going 1-0 down through a goal from Torino's Nikola Vlasic, Cagliari turned it around with goals from Matteo Prati and Semih Kilicsoy.

AC Milan is second in the Serie A with 35 points and has a record of 10 wins, five draws, and one loss. In their previous match, Milan defeated Hellas Verona 3-0 at the San Siro.

Christian Pulisic scored once more at home, and Christopher Nkunku scored two goals in the second half to seal the 3-0 victory.
