Nottingham Forest fans may be nervous about Moussa Niakhate playing in defense for the rest of the season.

The center-back had a torrid time against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Friday.

Niakhate gave away a penalty in a 2-1 Magpies win, which prompted Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher to express his concerns about the defender.

Sky Sports pundit Carragher stated: "When you are in the position Forest are in, a point against one of the top teams is a good point although it would have been a poor result for Newcastle.

"But you could see that with the substitutions with Neco Williams coming on at left-midfield who is normally a right-back. They were happy to take the point and they probably got it really.

"I wouldn't say Newcastle were running out of ideas but there was three minutes to go. To see a defender do that - I must say and I am not being clever after the event but watching Niakhate through the game, even in the first couple of minutes, you thought ooh.

"I know he hasn't played a lot and he is just getting used to it, but he just didn't look right. It makes you a little bit nervous as a Forest fan if he's going to be in the team from now until the end of the season."
