Casemiro misses Manchester United’s FA Cup final party ahead of likely transfer
Sports Press Photo

Casemiro did not stick around for celebrations on Saturday night.

After featuring in Manchester United’s previous 10 matches prior to the FA Cup final, the Brazilian was dropped to the bench by Erik ten Hag on Saturday. Casemiro had a run of terrible performances at centre-back and his reputation has been questioned this season.

Whispers of a tactical tweak filtered through the media on Friday night when The Athletic were first to suggest that Sofyan Amrabat would start ahead of Casemiro in midfield.

Casemiro was set to feature on the bench, but it was then rumoured that the former Real Madrid midfielder was removed from the squad due to injury, despite travelling to London with the squad via train.

Willy Kambwala replaced Casemiro on the bench as a result.

The Brazilian veteran was pictured with the trophy at Wembley after the match.

Casemiro jets off

After winning a second trophy under Ten Hag, United’s stars headed out to celebrate their victory.

However, Casemiro did not join them because he jetted off for a holiday with his wife and children.

Casemiro’s wife, Anna Mariana, posted a family photograph from inside an aeroplane via Instagram. She captioned her post: “Gone on vacation.”

While we hope Casemiro and his family enjoy their holiday, whichever tropical destination they end up in, but we also have questions about the Brazil star’s next move.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a summer switch to Saudi Arabia, and it is almost common knowledge at this point that United will be actively trying to cash in on him in the coming weeks.
