Celtic have announced the signing of Benjamin Nygren. The 23-year-old becomes Celtic’s third signing of the summer, following Kieran Tierney and Ross Doohan.
The 23-year-old has agreed a five-year deal to join the Champions of Scotland, arriving from FC Nordsjælland, where he scored 15 goals last season.
The attacking midfielder can play as a winger on either side and is out of contract in January, meaning he is available for a cut price deal this summer. After 20 goal involvements for the Danish club, Nygren will be looking to continue this fine form into Scottish football.
Celtic have secured a bargain for the creative midfielder. Given the player had only six months remaining on his deal, Celtic managed to agree a £1.5m bargain deal for the Swedish Internationalist.
Celtic will be eager to add more quality to their ranks in the coming weeks. The return of Tierney was a statement signing by the club but Brendan insisted that he required three or four quality first team additions. Callum Osmond is expected to sign from Fulham for a compensation fee to the London club.
