Celtic are interested in signing Cagliari defender Adam Obert, reports from Italy claim, but the Scottish side will need to offer a suitable fee to tempt the Sardinian club into selling.

Obert, 22, signed for Cagliari from Sampdoria’s youth system on a free transfer in 2021 and has since played 44 times in Serie A for the Sardinian side.

However, UnioneSarda.it are reporting that Cagliari need to make player sales and Obert is among the names that could leave should a suitable offer come in.

Celtic need to raise offer for Obert

According to the reports, Celtic have already suggested a ball-park figure to Cagliari over the Slovakian’s signature but it is not enough and the Scottish champions will have to raise their offer.

Meanwhile, Cagliari have rejected a €3.5 million offer from Ligue 1 side Rennes for Angolan forward Zito Luvumbo and are prepared to listen to offers in the region of €25-30 million for Italian striker Roberto Piccoli.
