As the summer transfer window nears, Celtic are said to be “very interested” in Red Star Belgrade defender Veljko Milosavljevic…

With Brendan Rodgers’ side on the verge of securing a domestic Treble and the club’s sixth Treble in nine years, the Premiership champions are already focusing on next season, as Aberdeen stand between them and Scottish Cup glory.

Celtic must navigate a challenging path to qualify for next season’s Champions League and are currently projected to be unseeded for the play-off round, and preparations are already underway.

According to reports in Serbian media sites, the Hoops are keen to secure a deal for the 17-year-old, but they have been told that the towering talent is not for sale. However, the report says the Belgrade club might reconsider their position, with clubs from France and England keeping an eye on the situation.

Meanwhile, Slovan Bratislava striker David Strelec was also a target as at the end of the January transfer window following the departure of Kyogo but an agreement could not be finalised.

Stralec was valued at £9 million by Celtic’s Champions League group phase opponents, but after scoring a hat-trick in Slovan’s 4-3 win over MSK Zilina, which clinched their seventh consecutive title, he has hinted at the possibility of a summer move.

He said: “Everything is open. I’m happy here, I’m home and it’s always been my dream to play for Slovan. We’ll see what the communication will be with the club in the coming period.”

Also, Celtic stand to benefit financially if Bayer Leverkusen decides to sell Jeremie Frimpong this summer. Reports indicate that Liverpool and Manchester United are prepared to compete for a transfer worth around €40 million [£34 million] for the former Hoops full-back.

Celtic secured a 30 percent sell-on clause in the £11 million agreement that saw Frimpong depart for Leverkusen in January 2021.
