On Saturday afternoon, Celtic got a win in the first game of the split, as they defeated Falkirk 3-1 at home in what was a crucial and hard fought victory from the team.

There were a number of solid performances across the board, including the likes of Kieran Tierney, Sebastian Tounekti and Liam Scales to name but a few.

However, one player stood out above the rest, with Daizen Maeda grabbing a brace as well as providing the assist for Tierney’s goal, with his contributions effectively turning 0 points into all three.

As a result, the Japanese international has been officially acknowledged by the SPFL, with not only a place in their team of the week for round 34, but also as their “Star Man” of the gameweek.

The full team is as follows; Prior; O’Donnell, Molloy, Hamilton, Ferry; Kerjota, Anderson, Slater, Duncan; O’Hara, Maeda. Meaning that the Celtic forward is the sole representation from the Hoops, but when he won the game on his own, you have to just say fair enough and crack on with it. No problem.

Let’s hope for a number of players in the team of the week after the game against Hibernian on Sunday, given that would probably mean that the team has picked up another crucial three points. But, as long as that happens, there can be as few or many players from Martin O’Neill’s side in the team of thr week.
