Not going tomorrow? Fine. Going tomorrow? Fine. It’s totally up to you. I’m certainly going. We’ve been through tougher times than this as a support.

The influential Celtic Spares account tweeted this earlier today: “I’ve never had so many spares come through the site for a game in the full time I started this page up. If you want a ticket..you WILL get one.”

There are literally hundreds of supporters with multiple tickets going spare tomorrow night, having of course already been purchased from the club as part of the the three match Champions League package.

And the sheer volume of folk deciding to give tomorrow night a miss for whatever reason is clearly a bit of a stir among the support on social media. There’s been a huge backlash after the defeat to Kilmarnock on Sunday and naturally questions have been raised regarding the roles of the board, the manager and the players.

Some of this has been well over the top, but some of the criticism is more reasonable. It now seems that many supporters have shunned the chance to attend the match with Feyenoord despite already forking out for their Champions League package.

That’s totally fine, it’s their choice after all, but don’t think it’s firing a warning shot to those in charge, as they won’t give a hoot as the money is already securely in the bank!

Personally speaking, I’m going to be there to support the team as the majority of those attending are. That’s what we do right? We are football supporters, we love the game and we love Celtic. And incidentally we’ve supported Celtic through thick and thin, the barren years of the 1990s for instance, when as the Four Leaf Clover song notes ‘we stood with pride and took defeat’.

No matter how dire we’ve been recently, we stand by our team. How does that other famous old song go? ‘Faithful Through and Through’ yet some seem to have forgotten that sadly.
