Ismaila Soro left Celtic on loan to the Portuguese side Arouca after it became clear to the midfielder that his future didn’t lie with Celtic. Under Ange Postecoglou, Soro saw very little game time last season and ultimately failed to impress the new Celtic manager.

The Ivorian midfielder, it is fair to say, is having mixed firtunes in the Portuguse league, and this weekend, playing against Celtic’s old foes Boavista, the on-loan Celtic man saw red after a reckless challenge. Soro only lasted just 10 minutes after kick-off as he was shown a straight red for this challenge.

When you look at the midfield talent that Celtic have at the moment, like Vasilis Barkas, who we have already featured this evening, you find it hard to imagine that Ismaila Soro is going to have much of a future at Celtic. Hopefully he’ll settle down and start playing some of his best football to convince Boavista to buy the midfielder in the summer.

Meanwhile Celtic striker Albian Ajeti, a £5m signing from West Ham, this weekend made his debut for Austrian side Sturm Graz, playing the first half in the match against Austria Klagenfurt which ended in a 2-0 win for Sturm Graz. Ajeti is on a seaosn long loan and Sturm Graz have an option to buy. Ajeti hasn’t played much football over the past year or so so his half-time subsitution isn’t too much of a surprise as the Switzerland international striker works in his match-fitness.
