Cesar Azpilicueta scored an own goal on his return to the Chelsea defense on Wednesday after missing the previous 11 games.

Azpilicueta had been a regular starter for the Blues this season but he had not featured in the first team since February 18 when he was knocked unconscious during a 1-0 loss to Southampton.

He had required hospital treatment after being accidently kicked in the face by Southampton forward Sekou Mara.

Chelsea fans were delighted to see Azpilicueta back in the team for Wednesday's Premier League home game against Brentford.

Azpilicueta's name was cheered loudly when it was read out over the speaker system prior to kick-off.

But Stamford Bridge fell silent in the 37th minute of the match when Azpilicueta inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net following a Brentford corner kick.
