Raheem Sterling finds himself in a difficult situation with Chelsea. The Englishman has recently been informed by manager Enzo Maresca that he has no place for the forward in his plans for the season. Isolated from the squad and on extremely high wages, both the player and manager are exploring ways to find a solution. Latest reports claim that Chelsea are in contact with Manchester United to explore the possibility of a swap deal with Jadon Sancho .
Sancho himself is in a ‘complicated’ situation at Old Trafford, given the tension with manager Erik ten Hag. Even though the Dutchman claims that any disagreement between the two are in the past, Sancho is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season.
From Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus and now Chelsea, several clubs have expressed their interest in signing the Manchester United ‘outcast’. Surprisingly, both United and Chelsea have explored the possibility of a swap deal for the players.

While both clubs being interested in each other’s outcasts felt strange to many, others stated that wages will also pose a significant hurdle.
As the transfer window enters the final stage, United are still keeping busy. As per several reports, United are extremely close to bringing in Manuel Ugarte from PSG, with the official announcement only a formality. The deal is worth £42.2 million, with add-ons taking the figure up to £50.7 million. Additionally, the club are also close to finalizing Scott McTominay ‘s move to Napoli.
After pursuing the player on a priority basis since the start of the window, the club have finally got their hands on their man. As for rivals Chelsea, either Victor Osimhen or Dominic Calvert-Lewin stand as options to bolster their No.9 spot. While the Napoli man is the ‘better’ talent, his high wages and huge buyout clause of €130 million also pose a challenge, even though the club have decided to lower their asking price.

Calvert-Lewin is a more affordable alternative for the Blues in comparison to Osimhen. The striker bagged 7 goals and 2 assists for Everton last season in 32 appearances. Fans recalled how former manager Frank Lampard valued the Englishman between £60 and £80 million back in 2022. Plagued by injuries ever since, the player’s value has plummeted significantly.
