Chelsea will be hoping that their time with Enzo Maresca is long and prosperous, following the manager’s second year in charge of the club.

Maresca also led Chelsea to both the Conference League and Club World Cup titles in his first season, and has the club sitting third in the Premier League table this year.

Despite what looks good on paper, Maresca has had a fair share of criticism from Chelsea supporters during the 2025/26 campaign. The reaction within the club has been much different.

Within the club, Maresca is still well-regarded. He’s become the first manager since BlueCo took over to even make it into a second season, which shows just how much faith they’ve put in him.

Fulham eye up future Chelsea target Liam Rosenior

Insider Graeme Bailey has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that while the club would be happy to see Maresca stick around for a few more years, they already have Rosenior in mind as his eventual replacement.

Bailey adds that Rosenior, currently at Strasbourg, is being considered for the Fulham job if they decide to part ways with Marco Silva before his deal runs out in the summer.

“There’s loads of Championship jobs, and that’s not really a worry for BlueCo, but Chelsea, I think in an ideal world they would love for Rosenior to be the next Chelsea manager,” he said.

“Not until in three or four years’ time, but no but then again do they allow him to go. I think within the club they are discussing do they allow him to go to a Fulham to a Bournemouth if those jobs become available.

“Then it’s a natural progression to Chelsea anyway so basically there’s going to be more and more jobs coming up. So, yeah, it’s an interesting one for them to get into.”

Liam Rosenior catching the eye during Strasbourg spell

After a strong finish last season, Rosenior has Strasbourg up in fourth place this campaign, just five points back from PSG.

They’ve also started well in Europe, picking up seven points from three matches and looking likely to progress from their group.

Strasbourg have also taken advantage of their ties to Chelsea through the BlueCo ownership structure. Last season, Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic spent time there on loan.

This season, Kendry Paez, Mamadou Sarr and Mike Penders are all getting regular minutes. Plus, Emanuel Emegha is already lined up to join permanently at the end of the year.
