On Monday, GIVE ME SPORT reported that Chelsea are feeling confident about their chances of signing Rogers this summer, believing that securing a Champions League spot—while Aston Villa missed out—has given them an edge in the race.

Amid the rumors, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey believes that while Rogers has drawn interest from Liverpool and other clubs ahead of the summer transfer window. Nonetheless, Bailey believes that Rogers might turn down a move to Merseyside and choose to stay at Aston Villa instead.

“Liverpool love Morgan Rogers, there’s no getting away from that,” Bailey said. “But it’s highly unlikely that Rogers leaves for more than one reason. With a lot of these players, the feedback I’m getting from the players’ camps is that they are very mindful that we’re in a World Cup cycle now.

“So someone like Rogers…if he leaves now, if he goes to Liverpool for instance, then playing devil’s advocate and it doesn’t work out, he’s not going to the World Cup.”
