Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has backed Mauricio Pochettino to keep his job.

The Argentine head coach is under huge pressure from the club's ownership at present.

After losing the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool, Pochettino knows that going the season without a trophy may cost him the job.

"I think the team deserved the win," Cucurella said to NBC Sports after a 3-2 success over Newcastle United on Monday in the Premier League.

"We controlled the game well, we conceded two easy goals in the game but I think it's part of the game. It's very important for us, and on Sunday we have another important game."

"I think we have always clear objectives and the style he wants to play," the Spaniard added.

"I think always it's difficult because we have a lot of new players, players in their first season in the Premier League and it is one of the most difficult leagues.

"This is a process. We are not happy enough with the results yet, but we have another 10 or 15 games to finish the season, we can finish in the best way."
