With just under two weeks left before the January transfer window opens, Chelsea fans have spotted a key transfer target already pictured in royal blue.
The club do not usually wait around when the market opens, and they have already been busy securing deals for young talent.
There are also plans to make a move on some of Liverpool’s academy players this time around.
However, Kobbie Mainoo is still being watched by the club, and another highly sought-after Premier League player could be wearing blue by the end of January – he has already worn the shirt.
Antoine Semenyo is shaping up to be the main talking point ahead of the January window.
The Bournemouth forward has a £65 million release clause set to kick in at the start of the year, and several Premier League clubs are expected to take notice.
Chelsea did not pursue him over the summer, but have since been linked with a possible move during the season.
Semenyo appeared on Away Days’ Shirt Shopping recently, where he was picking out some classic kits. When he chose Didier Drogba’s old shirt, his comments got people talking.

“This literally I was looking at the Champions League badge. It reminds me of that goal he scored against Bayern. Yeah. It’s perfect. I love it,” Semenyo said.
Time will tell if we see him wearing it for real again anytime soon.
Semenyo’s choice of shirt was not random. There is a clear reason why he picked out Drogba’s.
He said: “Yes, I did play as a nine growing up to be fair. I did have a little stint in midfield as well, centre-midfield, people wouldn’t believe. But yeah, I loved Didier Drogba growing up. I always always wanted to play like him.
“So strong, so quick, great shooting technique, and yeah, always wanted to be like him. I think he just suits the way I play. Just left foot, right foot, can head the ball. I don’t know if I can head the ball, but yeah, he’s number one for me.”
Chelsea are far from alone in their interest though – United, Spurs and even Liverpool have all been linked with a move.
But that has not stopped the Blues from seeing this as a deal they could actually pull off.
Semenyo is already well-regarded around the league and his game would likely fit right in at Stamford Bridge. If Chelsea want him badly enough, they have got every chance of making it happen.
