Antoine Semenyo has been one of the players of the season for AFC Bournemouth.
Picked in many people’s teams of the season, including Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher, Semenyo has drawn interest from a lot of teams after a fantastic campaign.
With eight goals and three assists in 16 appearances so far in the Premier League this season for Bournemouth, he has continued the momentum on from a brilliant few seasons in English football.
Across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, he has a total of 19 goals and nine assists in 70 league appearances.
His current performances have seen him linked with several of England’s biggest clubs.
This includes current reigning Premier League champions Liverpool, who may be looking at the Ghanaian as the long term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Semenyo, as have Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea are also another club heavily linked with a move for the winger.
They have not been short of signing talent in the past few seasons, spending over £1 billion on player arrivals since Todd Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich as owner in 2022.
Despite the money spent, they have yet to win a Premier League title during this period and have just a UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup to show for it.
Semenyo could be a worthwhile addition to this Chelsea squad as they hope to once again be title challengers. However, there has been an update regarding their interest in the Ghanian.
Journalist David Ornstein has reported on X that Chelsea have decided against the signing of Semenyo.
This is said to be down to a confidence in depth and quality of existing options.
This now leaves the question as to where Semenyo be playing his football in February 2026 and beyond.
