Chelsea now pick super inexperienced manager as favoured candidate to take the role
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Chelsea have now reportedly picked their favoured candidate to take over from departed Mauricio Pochettino as head coach at the club.

Pochettino and Chelsea parted ways by mutual consent earlier this week, and all the talk other than why he left has of course been around who will now be coming in to replace him.

There has certainly been some underwhelming and inexperienced names suggested and reported, and the list of names have certainly angered many Chelsea fans who are in full discourse with the board mode right now.

And the favoured candidate is a super inexperienced name that will bring even more anger and, frustration, disappointment from Chelsea fans.

According to a report from The Guardian last night, Chelsea have notified Ipswich Town of their interest in Kieran McKenna.

The report also adds that the race is still open, and Chelsea’s recruitment team are also impressed with Enzo Maresca at Leicester City.

Two Championship managers with no direct manager experience in the Premier League, what could possible go wrong?

The pressure of managing Chelsea

The way this new ownership have been turning over managers, you’d be surprised to see any new manager wanting to come here. They will demand instant success yet provide them with a young and inexperienced team in a project and plead for patience.

The pressure of managing at a club like Chelsea is absolutely huge, how will such a young and inexperienced manager cope with that? The fan base are already angry about the links let alone an actual appointment, imagine if they come in and start losing games right away? The pressure and atmosphere will be INTENSE.

But just like with players it seems Chelsea just want everything young and inexperienced these days. Let’s hope they know what they’re doing here. Sigh.
