Chelsea are open to sending Axel Disasi to Milan in the January transfer window, but the Rossoneri are monitoring other defenders as well, struggling to find a balance between Massimiliano Allegri’s requests and the club’s decisions.
Sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me that Chelsea are ready to discuss Disasi’s move to Milan in the January transfer window.
The ex-Monaco defender is struggling with playing time at Stamford Bridge and has attracted interest from other European clubs as well.
Milan coach Allegri had identified Thiago Silva, a former Rossoneri star, as the ideal reinforcement in defence, but there was never a real negotiation, and the Brazilian ultimately joined Porto.
Despite having only Serie A to play for this season, Milan will still sign a centre-back next month.
Disasi is a name that has long been on the table, and Chelsea are ready to release him. The Blues and Milan remain on good terms despite past misunderstandings linked to the Mike Maignan situation.
At present, however, the Rossoneri are in no rush. Club directors prefer to wait and assess other centre-back profiles, including Borussia Dortmund’s Niklas Sule, before making a final decision. As often, Milan’s main challenge lies in finding the right balance between Allegri’s requests and the club’s sporting and financial vision.
