Enzo Fernandez made serious noises about leaving Chelsea – but a new contract would surely settle him down for a while.

Italian transfer insider Nicolo Schira has been stepping up and offering some exclusives of late, as he tries his best to battle with the likes of Fabrizio Romano.

Today Schira offers some news on Enzo Fernandez, the Chelsea midfielder who looks like he’s going to be at the centre of a major transfer saga this summer.

After flirting with the idea of leaving Chelsea in the March international break, the Argentine’s story has faded into the background – but it’s waiting to surface again when the summer starts. One thing that would end it prematurely would Enzo signing a new contract – and that’s just what Schira suggests could be on the cards.

Schira says Chelsea ready to secure Enzo’s future

Enzo is still on his original deal, and the new one would add more years and take him out to “until 2033 or 2034,” presumably with the kind of price rise that would make him happy to stay put and give this project another try.

Until this deal gets done, the chatter about Enzo leaving will only continue.

Chelsea are going to be buying as well as selling this summer, and Jonathan Rowe is a name we’re starting to see more and more of.

Andrey Santos started in place of Romeo Lavia on Saturday and largely did well – but one pundit pointed to a big mistake he had made.
