Chelsea to battle Tottenham Hotspur for the services of Juventus star Kenan Yildiz

Tottenham Hotspur have been trying to bring in highly regarded young players and develop them through the corridors at Hotspur Way. This is a transfer strategy that the north Londoners have adapted for a while now.

And it looks like the Lilywhites have identified another top prospect in Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz. The 20-year-old Turkish international has been nothing short of a sensation since promotion to the first team at Juventus. That could be seen in numbers as well, given that he had already scored 12 goals and had nine assists to complement it in 52 appearances in the previous campaign.

Chelsea in race to sign Yildiz

But it looks like the Lilywhites may have to face renewed competition from city rivals Chelsea for his signature. This comes after reports suggesting that the West Londoners had sent scouts to keep a close eye on the Juventus forward in their recent game against Inter Milan. The Blues’ interest in his signature comes not many weeks after Tottenham got the better of them to sign Xavi Simons. It was almost an eleventh-hour hijack. And it looks like not signing Simons may have pushed Enzo Maresca’s side into pushing their efforts to bring in a creative midfielder.

For the Lilywhites, we are watching the side taking shape in more of a Thomas Frank mould (especially given the arrivals of Simons, Mohammed Kudus, and Randal Kolo Muani) since the Dane head coach has taken charge of the proceedings at Hotspur Way in the recently concluded summer window.

But still having Yildiz and his versatility on the table in the front line adds a lot to the side. He has the capacity to play down the middle as well as on both the flanks. And this versatility makes him an admired profile at N17. A

Juve are under no pressure to sell Yildiz

That being said, Juventus are under no immediate pressure to sell him. Given that Yildiz is still contracted with the North Londoners until 2029 and many of the fans in Turin see him as one of the crowned jewels in the rebuild that they are currently undergoing. But the decision-makers at Old Lady would have a figure around that €80m+ mark even before considering sitting down at the negotiations table.
