Chelsea striker could start next weekend in big game against Roma

SempreInter are today reporting news from Italy that the injured Romelu Lukaku is on track to be fit for Inter’s next game, against Roma next weekend.

It’s an important match for both teams as the Serie A title race hots up with Juventus strugging.

So why does this matter for Chelsea fans? Well, as much as we all like to pretend that the Lukaku nightmare is over, it’s actually just on hiatus. His loan runs until the end of this season, and after that he will be back at Chelsea.

Him getting fit, playing lots of games and scoring lots of goals is the best way to ensure that Inter buy him permanently next summer for a fee that we can countenance.

So while it may well be through gritted teeth, Chelsea fans should all be getting behind a swift recovery and a big season for Lukaku this time around.
